I have discovered that the South is starting to rub off on me. No, I don't like NASCAR. And I don't like country music, grits, hunting, or moonshine. And I also don't like talking about myself. I'm fine writing about myself (that is what my book is about) but when I'm asked questions like, 'tell me about a time you led a team' or 'what does leadership mean to you?' I find stumble for answers. Not because I haven't done these things, but because I'm trying to figure out exactly HOW to tell my story in a manner that shows I'm competent, but not cocky. Perhaps I should practice more, but I'm not sure how much it'll help as nothing ever compares to the real thing and the fact that the interview can determine my future.
Ah well, Vanderbilt has a lovely campus and seems like a program I could definitely see myself attending.
